Low evening/bedtime again. I’m gonna change midday basal (4am-6pm) to .30units instead of .35units. I think the regular exercise is doing this. Gonna see what tomorrow looks like and then maybe change it.

11:30pm and 5.3. So hard to get up and have food- am so sleepy. Having 20g with no correction. Ok, back to bed.

Low again this morning. 2.9. This is because I am more active. Will see how things are on my days off but may need to do some adjusting. Mornings still tricky because of ‘dawn phenomenon’.

Legs definitely feel less boggy this week, more stretched.

Trying a little harder to have proper food and exercise balance. Doing a 30 Day movement challenge, today is Day 3. Aiming for 20-30mins of activity/movement everyday and hoping to improve muscle tone and overall stamina.

So Freestyle Libre will cost $57 out-of-pocket each time until I reach my deductible limit. That sucks. Am looking at Dexcom again as I believe it would all be covered under my health insurance. I really like the Libre but can’t claim it under my insurance.

Lows this evening at work. 2.7mmol before supper (5pm-ish) and then 2.9mmol before I headed home at 7pm. Didn’t feel them coming- no sweating or shaking. Scares me when my body does that. Hate to think I’d have an issue that I would need help at work. I know I shouldn’t be embarrassed by possibly needing help but I would be.

I got to tell a kid I was part robot today.
She noticed the Libre sensor on the back of my arm while her mom was heading through the grocery till. I explained that the sensor monitored the inside part of me because my insides don’t work as well as other peoples. Then I showed her the insulin pump on my tummy and said that’s where I get my medicine.
“So I am kind of part robot.”
She thought that was cool.
Kids ask. It’s very awesome.

Changed ISF to 6.5 from 7 this morning. The overnight change has done nothing for midday so the nurse had suggested changing the ISF. She calculated 6.2 but I’m gonna start with 6.5. 6.2 feels like a really big jump.

Just had an appointment with the nurse at the diabetes clinic to adjust my pump settings a bit more. Changed the basal overnight so the increase starts at 4am instead of 5am to try and catch that rise I get in the morning. She said to try a week with that and then possibly change the sensitivity factor- from 7 to 6.2.
She also gave me a Freestyle Libre sensor to try out. It’s a wearable sensor that implants in your skin. It comes with a little scanner that looks like a mini cell phone so you can see you BG reading without a finger poke. There is a bit of a discrepancy/delay with the reading so I couldn’t use it to dose for meals but it’s accurate enough that I don’t need to worry about finger pokes all day. I just put it on this afternoon and it should last 14 days. I am really looking forward to trying it out and hope it works for some piece of mind.

Closed tonight and did a temp basal again. Decreased by 20% from 6:30pm to 9:50pm. Am done work at 9:30 and then walk home (around 15mins). I was 7.9mmol at 9:30pm and then 3.4 at 10:10pm. I didn’t have a snack at close but maybe I should next time. Or maybe I’ll decrease basal by 30%.

Low when I was walking back up the hill from buying cat food. I could feel it coming on – sweating, stumbly. It was drizzling and I had my jacket and backpack on and didn’t want to stop and test on wet ground. Kept walking and had 20g as I walked. Was 8.8 when I got to work so must have been low!
